Do You Stack Up? Challenge #24

This week the challenge over at Do You Stack Up? is to use a star.
Again we have three sponsors!
Little Musings Stamps will give the winner a choice of three digital stamp kits.
JLJ Designs will award a $10 gift certificate to the store to the winner.
Pixie Dust Studio is giving the winner a choice of three digis.

My contribution for your inspiration for the week is:
I chose an image by Little Musings called "Starlit 5" that says 'Catch a falling star'.
Its quite the star lit night in my world, and I'm catching the brightest, most sparkling star!
I used the basic resist technique of stamping various stars (Autumn Leaves) in Versamark watermark ink and embossing with clear embossing powder. I sponged a light coat of Ranger Distress Faded Jeans ink over the whole card.  Then I added some more stars in the same fashion as before.  After that came the intense sponging of Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood and a touch of Black Soot around the edges.

By this time, I could bearly see the image!  But, I had printed it twice, I colored the other image with Distress inks and cut it out.  The yellow star got a couple of coats of Iridescent medium for super sparkle. I pop dotted the star and net over the original image.  I used a black marker to trace the sentiment so everyone could see it.
My fingers were quite blue when I finished, but it sure was fun.

Challenges for this card:
Bearly Mine - anything goes
Crafts and Me -  bling it on
Scrap-Creations - anything goes

You will want to go to the challenge blog and drool over the DT's creations 'cuz they are gorgeous!
