Cool Pad Dude!

This is a crazy card I made with 'Moonscape' and 'Lion' images by Hambo Stamps. I received 'Moonscape' by email for playing in the Hambo Hoedown challenge last week.

I colored the moon and lion with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  I used a brayer to apply Ranger Distress inks for the sky or space.

Challenges entered:
Hambo Hoedown - use 'Moonscape' & optional texture
Catch the Bug - bright colors
Clearly iStamp - critters
Charisma Cards - boy oh boy
Digital Tuesday - add some texture
Aud Sentiments - a sentiment/card for a male
2 Sisters -  anything goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - anything goes

There are a lot of really cute cards done by the Design Team over at Hambo Hoedown and entered in the challenge.  You don't want to miss those!

Designed2Delight Saturday Challenge

It is time for the weekly Designed2Delight Saturday Challenge hosted by one of the Design Team members.  This week Katie Tate wants us to PAPER PIECE!  Yea, that is so much fun to do!!

It is also our monthly CHRISTMAS / WINTER challenge. So, paper piece a D2D image and create a winter or Christmas project. Yes, we are requiring a D2D image this week.

Seems odd to make a Christmas card at this time of year, but I rose to the challenge with this D2D 'Mitten" image:
I flipped the image for one of the mittens and printed on some wild DCWV Christmas cardstock I have.  I'm not so sure I would wear mittens like these, but I think they make for a fun card!

The background paper was made by brayering "Fired Brick" Distress ink onto a matte piece of cardstock.  Then I used a Stampin Up present image and stamped it using bleach.

The sentiment is a freebie by Tlc Creations.  Paulette is quite prolific in her craft and generous!  She always has something she is giving away on her blog.  She also has lots of sentiments for sale.

Challenges I'm entering are:
Wag 'n Whiskers - stitches
Creative Inspirations - Christmas in May
Creative Card Crew - anything goes
Digital Tuesday - add some texture
Paper Sundaes - pop it up
Moving Along with the Times - holidays
2 Sisters -  anything goes

Digi Doodle Shop's Best - anything goes
I Did it Creations - anything goes
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes

I hope you will consider joining in on the paper piecing challenge.  Also going on at Designed2Delight is the weekly progressive FREE digi challenge.  This week is FUN FLOWERS!

Do You Stack Up? Challenge #21

We are back for another Challenge at Do You Stack Up?!

We are looking for ANIMALS or animal patterns this week.  I know just about EVERYONE has some animal stamps or digis, so I hope to see a lot of entries this week!

We have 2 sponsors for this challenge and they are:
Stichy Bear: gives a $10 Gift Voucher for the shop (Stitchy Bear, Floppy Latte, Delicious Doodles images only)

And would you believe it?! Our talented Design Team member Miranda! Miranda gives 2 newly made only-for-the-winner digital images!  Miranda is very talented as you may have noticed from all her lovely card samples.

As a matter of fact, I picked one of Miranda's images for my inspirational piece:
This cute little bear kinda jumps out at you, doesn't he?!!  He wants a big hug from his very special person. I plan on sending this card to Operation Write Home and I thought the 'I miss you" sentiment by Clearly Wordsworth was perfect.

I used Ranger Distress inks to water-color the bear and then added some Twinkling H2Os for extra oomph.
I don't know what you think about it, but I am quite pleased with how the card came out. *patting myself on the back*
I think all of the Design Team did an outstanding job on the inspirational samples this week, so please take a gander over at DYSU.
And, in case it has slipped your attention, DYSU is looking for a few new DT members!  The deadline for applying for the team is June 2nd.

Challenges I am entering my card into:
2 Sisters - use a digi
Clear it out - any coloring medium
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything plus ribbon, lace or twine
I Did it Creations - anything goes
Creative Card Crew - anything goes
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes
Stamptacular Sunday - BEARnecessities(sentiment is stamped)
Party Time Tuesdays - animal themed

Hambo Sumo Wrestler

Hambo Stamps has done it again!  This Sumo - digi by Hambo Stamps is crazy cute and funny, especially the sentiment.

I received him for FREE because I played in the Hambo Hoedown challenge last week.  You need to get over there and get in on the fun & freebies!!

So, it is rather a plain, simple design, which could be appropriate for a man to receive. The little coloring I did was with Distress inks.

The challenges I found to enter this card are:
Hambo Hoedown - use Sumo, sentiment & chipboard (I 'popped' up Sumo by gluing 2 thin pieces of chipboard together and using them as my 'foam tape') (I'm cheap frugal that way!!)
Crafts & Me - anything plus optional kraft (card base is kraft)
2 Sisters - use a digi
Sugar Creek Hollow - masculine
Clear it out - any coloring medium
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything plus ribbon, lace or twine
I Did it Creations - anything goes
Creative Card Crew - anything goes
Paper Sundaes - pop it up  (I 'popped' up Sumo)
Wags N Whiskers - circles
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes

Designed2Delight Saturday Challenge

Maybe you can guess what the challenge is from my card.  Maybe not.
The challenge starting today over at Designed2Delight is ALL WHITE plus ONE Color.

Michelle Pearson is running this challenge and says:
"Lots of white cardstock and embellishments please! You may color your image, but use mostly white on your papers and embellishments!"

And that is what I did. I used D2D's 'Flowering Shamrock Cross' and 'Peace" and a little bit of Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  Believe it or not I added some Champagne Stickles to the center of the flowers, but you cant's tell it from the darn photo!

I managed to find some challenges for this card:
Crafts & Me - anything goes
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything goes
A Spoon Full of Sugar - anything goes

DYSU challenge #20 CELERY, WHITE & SEA GLASS BLUE

Time for a color challenge at Do You Stack Up?
These are lovely colors, aren't they?!!

We have Three wonderful sponsors:

Deb´s Creations2 Digi Faeries Images winner´s choice
Squiggle StampsŁ10 gift vouchers for the store
The Stamping Boutique5 digis of winner's choice

So, what did PeggySue do for this challenge??????
I tried my hand at a bit of elegance, some sophistication, some clean & simple.
The image is by Squiggle Stamps, called 'Wedding Cake' and I can see this image being very useful!
Squiggle has absolutely darling images that you need to see!

I printed the image on watercolor paper and used Distress inks to color.  I added a little iridescent medium on top of the the hearts. A wedding card must have sparkle!  I think that is a rule, isn't it?

I found a few challenges for this card:
Stamp Something - anything goes
Stamps R Us - going digital
Aud Sentiments - no sentiment
Crafts & Me - anything goes

Feeling boxed in?

I hope you are not feeling boxed in.  Been there, done that.  Not fun at all.

I saw a challenge at Clear Dollar Stamps that I could not let pass me by.   The challenge was just the color Turquoise.  I think mine is a light turquoise, or maybe it is aqua.  Hopefully it will be accepted.

I used Clear Dollar Stamps 'Cat-tastic' and a 9 year old Stampin' Up stamp (the squares on the background).  Oh, I also used Papertrey's 'Retro' borders.

The image was embossed in Copper  and the backing papers are a metallic copper by DCWV.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything goes
Stamp Something - anything goes
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Sat. - old supplies (old SU stamp)
Crafty Creations - anything
Clearly iStamp - turquoise
A Spoon Full of Sugar - anything goes
Paper Play - anything goes

Teddy and friends

I just love playing around with digital images, especially Designed2Delight images!!
I put together 'Teddy' and 'Simple Valentine bird' for this card and used Distress inks to color.

Doesn't it look like Teddy is thinking "Why are these birds standing on me?!"

You should check out Designed2Delight's blog, as every week there are 2 challenges going on!  One is the progressive FREE image challenge.  The other one is the Handmade Flower challenge, which this card could qualify for.  I made that scruffy crochet flower myself!

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Stamps R Us - going digital
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything goes
Stamp Something - anything goes
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Sat. - old supplies (old 7 Gypsies DP)
Crafty Creations - anything
Paper Play - anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - buttons (little black button on crochet flower)
Wags 'n Whiskers - circles
Catch the Bug - polka dots and stripes (stripe is on right side)
Sentimental Sundays - handmade flower + sentiment
Thanks for dropping in!

Thinking of Doodle Pantry

It has been a long, long time since I have used a Doodle Pantry image.  I just have not been able to make the time to get it done.
I got a couple of images printed this weekend and actually go a card made with one of them.  Stayed up pretty late last night as a result, but that's okay.
I did something rather different with this card.  I can't decide if I like it or not.
For a background and embellishments, I did not match any of the colors I had used on the image!  Eeks!
Sure makes the image stand out!
Grrr, that grossgrain ribbon is a perfect match to the DP but the photo has it looking dull.  I have had this ribbon for well over a year, maybe 2, and have just opened the package today!!!  Terrible!
The DP is the first I have used of my Prima paper pad.  I think it's yummy!
I used Prismacolor pencils to color the image and rubbed chalk around the edge.

Onto the challenges:
Doodle Pantry - use a DP image
Stamps R Us - going digital
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything goes
2 Sisters - how does your garden grow?
Stamp Something - anything goes
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Sat. - old supplies (ribbon)
Digital Tuesday - 'thinking of you'
Creative Card Crew - May Flowers
Crafty Creations - anything
Paper Play - anything goes

Everyone's tastes are different, so tell me --- how do you like the card since I did not match the colors to the image??  Is it something you would do, or would never do?  I'm curious.
