Do You Stack Up? Challenge #26

Hello everyone.  Today is Thursday and the beginning of a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?

We want to see something SQUARE!  Or, many square things.

We have THREE fabulous sponsors this week:
Stretch 'n Bubbles is giving away 4 single digital images.

The Stamping Boutique is giving the winner their choice of 5 digis.

Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps is giving away a $10 gift voucher for Stitchy Bear, Floppy Latte and Gingerloft digis.
********************************************

My contribution for this week is a square card with as many squares incorporated as I could muster.
Isn't this a sweet image by Floppy Latte Designs called "Delayed Delivery"?!

The upper right hand corner of this image just seemed too bare!  It screamed for a sentiment.  A sentiment by Clear Dollar Stamps in the "Shore Treasures" set seemed appropriate. I would certainly treasure a friend who waits in the rain for me!

I did not have many square brads and certainly not in this odd orange/rust color.  I did have four square white brads and Colorbox fluid chalk inks.  Did you know that chalk inks can stick to just about anything if they are heat set?!  Two coats of the Colorbox Coral did the trick on the brads.

The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and the outer edge sponged with Colorbox chalk inks. I added Stickles to the flowers in the mouse's hand (paw?) which you can't see in the picture. I just could not get a shot that showed the sparkle. Sorry!

I found the following challenges to enter:
Bearly Mine - summer is here
Pollycraft Monday - make a splash
Sweet Stampin - something old (very old card base) something new (image)
Wags n Whiskers - summertime
Creative Inspirations - summer
Mark's Finest Papers - sparkle (Stickles on flowers)

Thanks for coming by and please look at the rest of the Design Team's contributions here.

Hambo's Pig Inmate

This little piggy is in BIG trouble!

Isn't she cute?  How do I know she is a she?  Her gorgeous amethyst necklace, of course!  LOL
I received this digital image from Hambo Stamps called 'Pig Inmate' for free, just for playing in their challenge last week.  Such a great deal.

Challenges for this card:
Hambo Hoedown - use Pig Inmate and twine
Crafty Creations - let it shine
Mark's Finest Paper - make it sparkle
The Crafty Pad - bold & bright or soft pastels
Paper Sundaes - sundae bar (purple & gems)

Designed2Delight card

Just for fun I colored up an older image by Designed2Delight called 'Cat's Meow'.  I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

Since there are butterflies hovering around this kitty, I also colored up the D2D butterfly from the 'Bloom, Grow, Dream' set.  I popped up the wings for a 3D effect, but I don't think the photo captures that due to the angle the shot was taken.  (darn it!)

I just recently bought a set of cards & envelopes by The Paper Studio called Affinity.  I just really liked the colors and patterns of them. This card seemed to accent the colors I used on the kitty image, so I used it for the base.

The sentiment is a stamp by Scrappy Cats.  It was stamped on a piece of copper shimmer paper, source unknown.  I believe that is all the items I need to point out.

Challenges appropriate for this card:
Bearly Mine - summer is here
Bee Crafty - summer's here
Fab n Funky - summer lovin
Simon Says Stamp & Show - a word
Pile it On - circles
Sweet Stampin - something old (image) something new (card base)
Delicious Doodles - cute & cuddly
Wags n Whiskers - summertime
Phindy's Place - circles
Meljens - stripes &or plaid
Mark's Finest Papers - sparkle (does shimmer paper count?)

By the way, Designed2Delight has two challenges going on right now.  One is the FREE stamp of the month progressive challenge and the other is the design team's theme challenge.  This week's theme is Red, White & Blue &/or Christmas Too.  The themed challenge has a prize of a digital image from Designed2Delight!  We would all love for YOU to join our challenges.

Do You Stack Up? Challenge #25

We have a color challenge this week at Do You Stack Up?
MAUVE, MUSTARD & PINK
Yes, this is a little bit out of the ordinary, but if I can do it, you can do it!

We have two sponsors this week and they are:

CoCo Dingo Stamps is giving four digital images

Whimsy Stamps is giving five digital images
These are great prizes, so get busy creating so you can get in the challenge!! Hurry!
************************************
I chose a beautiful image by CoCo Dingo Stamps called "Butterfly in Lavender".  I think you will agree.

Did you notice all the shine in the snippet picture at the top of this post?  I used some Glossy Accents on the butterfly body and Purple Stickles on the lavender. I painted the image with Ranger Distress ink first of course.  The butterfly additionally has gold Ranger Perfect Pearls painted on the wings.

I went the extra mile and made a mask for the image so I could do a resist technique on the background.  I clear embossed a script stamp and then sponged Tattered Rose & Spun Sugar distress inks.

Challenges appropriate for this card:
Bearly Mine - summer is here
Bee Crafty - summer's here
Fab n Funky - summer lovin
Crafty Creations - let it shine
CES - lots of sparkly flowers
Delicious Doodles - things that flutter

You're How OLD?

Oh, one better know without a doubt that the receiver of THIS card has a BIG sense of humor.

Or you could send it to someone you don't like.

I think its funny, but I'm not so sure I would like to receive a card like this...just sayin'.  I think a man would be okay with it though.

Its a very cute image called "Laughing - digi" by Hambo Stamps. It was sent to me for free as part of Hambo Hoedown's weekly progressive challenge.

Of course, once again I got so involved with the image that I forgot all about the challenge requirements!  What is wrong with me?!  Sheesh!

Luckily I used a red patterned paper, so I added the teal (or maybe its turquoise) flower rhinestones to make it acceptable.  Whew!

So, here are the challenges I'm entering:
Hambo Hoedown - use Laughing &  red & teal
Whimsie Doodles - to die for
Meljens Design - red, white, & blue
Stamp Something - pretty papers
Wag 'n Whiskers - one for the boys
2 Sisters - for a guy
Catch the Bug - its a man's world
Thanks for swingin' by
