Do You Stack Up Challenge #13 Color

Hello!  We have got a real challenge of a challenge over at Do You Stack Up.  It is a color challenge and the colors are Clear, Light Pink and Mauve.

Isn't this different?  I think it is going to be a bit challenging this week.  It was for me.

Now, what do you have a chance to win?!

Blackleaf Studios is one of our THREE sponsors this week. Look at the list of items they carry in their shop.

The winner will receive the digital set 'Festive Chinese Lanterns' that is being showcased by some of the Design Team.  This 9 image set has endless possibilities for use.The shop has a terrific list of ideas.

To see some examples go to DYSU for the Design Team's marvelous samples.

Our second sponsor for the week is Digi's with Attitude!  Their newest line of digis is Sassy Tweens and they sure do have attitude.

They are giving a $10CAD(Canadian dollars) gift certificate to their store.

Our third sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. They has a large selection of images in their shop by several different designers.

Stitchy Bear is offering a $10 gift certificate for images by Stitchy Bear, Floppy Latte Designs, and Lexi Creations.

AND, there is another prize! Our lovely DYSU site owner ALISON is rewarding each of the Top 3 picks with 2 (single) images from her awesome Stretch N Bubbles Shop!! Not only today, but with every challenge from today on!  Everybody wins!!

I used an image called 'Ollie Rainbow Bubble' by Lexi Creations to showcase. Feast your eyes on this:

I don't mind admitting that I was totally bewildered as to what to do for this challenge.  It took quite a while to come up with an idea.  I finally decided to make a little candy box.
Here is a view of the scalloped side.  And it shows the light pink box bottom.
I'm not sure if there is mauve in the box lid, but if not, I'm hoping its close enough.
My 'clear' portion is the acetate.  I added a piece of vellum under it so the image would be easier to see.
And that candy in there?  It's gone baby!!

I hope you are inspired to show us what you can do with this challenge.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I've been published!

I just have to brag inform everyone! For the second time, I have been published in the Spring 2011 issue of Just Cards!  I'm excited!
I've got one card in there way in the back.  I used one of Dustin Pike's cute images.  The sentiment is by ALFP but I have no idea what those initials stand for at the moment. (SORRY!)
Short post, just wanted you to know I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!  Along with 200 other people....

Do You Stack Up Challenge #12 Shine On!

Do you see the shine and sparkle in this little snippet picture?  I went all out with the glitzy stuff on this card.  But more about that later.

It is time for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up!  And we want to see SHINE!  You know, glitz, bling, sparkle, shimmer, and I think you get the idea.

One of our sponsors for this week is Digi Doodle. They have got all kinds of images and even freebies at their shop.  They are offering a $10 Gift Certificate to their store.

Our other sponsor for this challenge is Digi Stamp Characters by Heather Ellis.  Heather has a shop on Etsy full of sweet characters of her imagination.
Heather is offering the winner three images of their choice from her shop.

Finally, I get to show my card!  I used the Whale from Digi Doodles.  I flipped the image once and made it smaller so the bigger whale would have a buddy.  Gosh, I'm so thoughtful....Ha!

The whales are paper pieced and look a bit grayish or greenish in the photo, but that's not the case.  I painted iridescent medium on top of the pattern paper to give the whales lots of shine.

The water background was painted using several different shades of blue acrylic paint.  One was a metallic blue.  I put some seaweed and coral in my seascape with two different green shades of Stickles.  The challenge is for Shine and everything I used on this card shines!  Even the 'bubbles'!

Lots of you love the glitter, so we are really hoping to see lots of entries this week.  I hope you have looked at the Design Team's work for inspiration as they have worked hard on this challenge.  Please give the challenge a try because we have some great prizes and you can't win if you don't enter!
