Homemade Bridesmaids' Bouquets

A couple of days ago I posted about the silk Boutonnieres and Corsages I had made for the upcoming wedding of my dear son.

Now you lucky dogs get to see what I have made for the 5 bridesmaids!
I took the plain round hanging bouquet that you can purchase at Hobby Lobby and ripped it apart.  It just wasn't special enough.  We want to save money, but have some pizazz too!
Here is what the bouquet looked like before I tore it apart:
It has large open roses with a leaf and a little organza ribbon hanging out here and there.  The bride wanted a bit of sparkle. And we wanted hand held bouquets.

So, I made the one you see to the left.
The organza and leaves from the store-bought one were eliminated .
I fashioned a Styrofoam ball into roughly a half round and added the open roses from the store-bought one, as well as small rose buds.
Pearl berries and crystal accents were also added.

Here is a view from the underneath of the bouquet.

The colors for the wedding are ivory and red.  We wanted both colors in the bridesmaids bouquets and this is how we went about it.

I took store-bought bouquet holders like the one to the left and did a bit of modification.

First, the ruffle had to go and then the plastic lace piece was cut off. I basically got it back to just being a cup with a hole in it!

A bit of ribbon wrapping and viola!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have been working. Playing might be a better term because I really enjoyed it!
