Do You Stack Up Challenge #13 Color

Hello!  We have got a real challenge of a challenge over at Do You Stack Up.  It is a color challenge and the colors are Clear, Light Pink and Mauve.

Isn't this different?  I think it is going to be a bit challenging this week.  It was for me.

Now, what do you have a chance to win?!

Blackleaf Studios is one of our THREE sponsors this week. Look at the list of items they carry in their shop.

The winner will receive the digital set 'Festive Chinese Lanterns' that is being showcased by some of the Design Team.  This 9 image set has endless possibilities for use.The shop has a terrific list of ideas.

To see some examples go to DYSU for the Design Team's marvelous samples.

Our second sponsor for the week is Digi's with Attitude!  Their newest line of digis is Sassy Tweens and they sure do have attitude.

They are giving a $10CAD(Canadian dollars) gift certificate to their store.

Our third sponsor for this challenge is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. They has a large selection of images in their shop by several different designers.

Stitchy Bear is offering a $10 gift certificate for images by Stitchy Bear, Floppy Latte Designs, and Lexi Creations.

AND, there is another prize! Our lovely DYSU site owner ALISON is rewarding each of the Top 3 picks with 2 (single) images from her awesome Stretch N Bubbles Shop!! Not only today, but with every challenge from today on!  Everybody wins!!

I used an image called 'Ollie Rainbow Bubble' by Lexi Creations to showcase. Feast your eyes on this:

I don't mind admitting that I was totally bewildered as to what to do for this challenge.  It took quite a while to come up with an idea.  I finally decided to make a little candy box.
Here is a view of the scalloped side.  And it shows the light pink box bottom.
I'm not sure if there is mauve in the box lid, but if not, I'm hoping its close enough.
My 'clear' portion is the acetate.  I added a piece of vellum under it so the image would be easier to see.
And that candy in there?  It's gone baby!!

I hope you are inspired to show us what you can do with this challenge.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I've been published!

I just have to brag inform everyone! For the second time, I have been published in the Spring 2011 issue of Just Cards!  I'm excited!
I've got one card in there way in the back.  I used one of Dustin Pike's cute images.  The sentiment is by ALFP but I have no idea what those initials stand for at the moment. (SORRY!)
Short post, just wanted you to know I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!  Along with 200 other people....

Do You Stack Up Challenge #12 Shine On!

Do you see the shine and sparkle in this little snippet picture?  I went all out with the glitzy stuff on this card.  But more about that later.

It is time for another challenge over at Do You Stack Up!  And we want to see SHINE!  You know, glitz, bling, sparkle, shimmer, and I think you get the idea.

One of our sponsors for this week is Digi Doodle. They have got all kinds of images and even freebies at their shop.  They are offering a $10 Gift Certificate to their store.

Our other sponsor for this challenge is Digi Stamp Characters by Heather Ellis.  Heather has a shop on Etsy full of sweet characters of her imagination.
Heather is offering the winner three images of their choice from her shop.

Finally, I get to show my card!  I used the Whale from Digi Doodles.  I flipped the image once and made it smaller so the bigger whale would have a buddy.  Gosh, I'm so thoughtful....Ha!

The whales are paper pieced and look a bit grayish or greenish in the photo, but that's not the case.  I painted iridescent medium on top of the pattern paper to give the whales lots of shine.

The water background was painted using several different shades of blue acrylic paint.  One was a metallic blue.  I put some seaweed and coral in my seascape with two different green shades of Stickles.  The challenge is for Shine and everything I used on this card shines!  Even the 'bubbles'!

Lots of you love the glitter, so we are really hoping to see lots of entries this week.  I hope you have looked at the Design Team's work for inspiration as they have worked hard on this challenge.  Please give the challenge a try because we have some great prizes and you can't win if you don't enter!

Happy Bug Day!

Did you know it was Happy Bug Day today?  Probably not, because I jest.  No such day. This is a birthday card as I'm sure you know.  Have you heard of the rare Bulls Eye Ladybug?  Well, you have now!!  I thought the spots with spots looked kinda cool.  IDK....

I used a Designed2Delight image from the 'Caught a Bug' set that I received just for playing in the challenge last week at Delight Inspiration.  Yea! You should check it out because it is the cutest!

I just used one bug out of that adorable set. I immediately thought of this sentiment by Digi Sparkle and thought it might make a cute birthday card.
I can't say I'm very wild about this card.  And I really can't figure out why, that's what is really annoying!  They can't all be spectacular, can they?!  *ROTFLMBO!*

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Delight Inspiration - use 'Caught a Bug'
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Birthday
The Crafty Pad - use a digi
Stamp Something - something sweet
Sugar Creek Hollow - anything goes
Catch the Bug - baby steps
Wild Orchid - Dieing to punch it out

Hope you're having a good crafting day!!

Party Elephant!

Hey, its a bird, its a plane, No, its Party Elephant!!  Da Da Da Taaaa!  (cue the trumpets)

As you may already know, Hambo Stamps has a progressive challenge going on every week.  The image I received for participation last week was Party Elephant.

For some reason, I wanted him pink.  I used my Prismacolor pencils and OMS to totally embarrass this elephant!

Part of the challenge for this week is to use sparkle with the image.  All I've got (so far, hee hee) is sparkly purple paper, which of course you can not see.  I think I might add a bit of glitter to the top of his (her?) hat.  But you won't see that.  So Sorry

This is a gate fold card, just to change things up.  I can get in a rut so easily....

Challenges for this card:
Hambo Hoedown - use Party Elephant & sparkle
Wild Orchid - dieing to punch it out
Catch the bug - baby/child project
Charisma Cardz - to die for
Sugar Creek Hollow -  anything goes

Do You Stack Up Challenge #11 Add a Bow

Another week, another challenge over at Do You Stack Up.  I think everyone is going to love this week's criteria: Add a Bow.  Could be a ribbon bow or an image of a bow.  Yes, I know, there is no bow in the snippet above, but just hold on a minute.

We have two incredible sponsors this week,  The first is
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  Robyn has a wide selection of images. The winner will receive EITHER 5 digital stamps OR 4 digital stamps and one paper pack (winner's choice).

Our second sponsor for this week is Jellypark.  They are in the UK and they have cute & whimsical digital stamps and other art by Claire Keay.  The winner will get to choose ten digital stamps from the Jellypark website.

I bet you are itching to win now!  You have to enter first!

Are you ready for my beautiful creation for your inspiration?
I chose an image from Robyn's Fetish called 'Angie Angel'.  Isn't she adorable?  I really tried hard to make a beautiful card to do justice to this image.  I love this paper by BasicGrey so it seemed only fitting that I use it for this card.  I picked the ribbon next and then colored with image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.
I wanted to add stitching to this card and picked a different stitch than what I usually use.  Always  wanted to try to make some of the rolled flowers and that is what the blue flowers are.  I added a couple of bought flowers and one of my crocheted flowers.  And a bunch of pearls and other stuff!  This card has a little of everything and I just love it! (if I do say so myself!!)
You must check out the rest of the design team's work over at DYSU.  Lots of wonderful creations and such a variety of styles!  I'm sure you will go away totally inspired.  I look forward to seeing all your entries this week.

PeggySue

Angels Paint the Flowers

Isn't she sweet?  This angel was sent to me because I entered a card into the last challenge over at Delightful Inspirations.

Extra flower images also came with this Designed2Delight image.  Due to lack of planning, I did not use them this time.  Planning out my card is kinda rare for me!  *sigh*

I used Distress inks to color her and Iridescent medium on her wings for lots of sparkle.
I actually know what Designer Papers I used!  They're from the BasicGrey Wisteria collection.
 Challenges entered:
Delightful Inspirations - use Angel image
Wild Orchid - dieing to punch it out
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - something you treasure (my pearls)
Catch the bug -  scallops anyone
Bee Crafty - Spring floral
Stamp Scrap & Doodle - Spring has sprung
BasicGrey - wings

Okay, I've got to run & get my hair cut.  Mustn't be shaggy!
