Owl always love you

How do people come up with these cute little sayings?  I love the play on words!
For this card I used a K & Company card base with this gorgeous leaf design.  Then, I had to have a tree for my owl by Little Paper Shop to sit in, so I cut one out of brown card stock.  Colored my owl with Ranger Distress inks, cut him out & adhered him with pop dots.  I toyed with the idea of adding some sort of doodad to the top right corner, but I didn't want to detract from the main image.  I guess it is a clean & simple (CAS) card.
I'm entering this into these challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Valentine
Simon Says Stamp - animal antics
Meljens Design - hearts
Delightful Challenge - hearts
Moving along with the times - spring
Charisma Cardz - Valentine, love
I'd love to hear what you think I could have added to my card, or if I made a good decision!

For You

A Valentine's Day card for you!  Aren't these mice cute?!  I got this image from my Mom quite a while ago.  I think it is Penny Black.  I wish I had this stamp, it is so adorable and fun to color.  I used my Prismacolor pencils and OMS on it.
A friend gave me a scrapbook page kit by Colorbok and I used the scalloped frame, the sentiment and the hearts doodad in the corner.  Felt like I was cheating somehow, lol.  It made for a quick card!
I'm entering it in these  challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Valentine
Simon Says Stamp - animal antics
PaperPlay - layers
Meljens Design - hearts
Delightful Challenge - hearts
Creative Inspirations - buttons & bows
The Pixie Cottage - flowers or sketch

Mean Cats!

Poor Mr. Mouse got all beat up by those mean cats!  He was terribly outnumbered.
I love this image by David Sieks 'Town Mouse - Ward 1'.  I stamped & embossed in black on water-color paper and used Ranger Distress inks to color it.  All the papers are Basic Grey and I sponged Distress inks on the edges.

Simon Says Stamp - animal antics
Cute Card Thursday - sketch
PaperPlay - layers
Meljens Design - hearts
Delightful Challenge - hearts
Crafty Sentiments - favorite things (Basic Grey papers, Distress inks, ribbon)

Thanks for looking!

Patterned Paper Challenge

The Do You Stack Up challenge blog has a new challenge starting today.  At least I think its a challenge.  We are to use patterned paper on our project.  Does anyone NOT use patterned paper on everything?!?  Oh, its just me...I see.  It may be a challenge for some, but sure to be fun!

Okay, on to the important stuff.  Prizes!

Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps is one of our 2 sponsors this week.  They have loads of digital images from many artists in their shop and all manner of digital products.

Stitchy Bear is offering a $10 Gift Certificate to the lucky winner!  Wow!

Black Leaf Studios is our other sponsor this week. They too have all kinds of printable digital items and even die cutting templates.

Black Leaf Studios is giving the Sweet Cupcake Digi Stamp Set to our lucky winner.  A whole set! Check it out!

I used Stitchy Bears' Sparkle image for my contribution this week.  And taking a cue from this cute fairy's name, I added lots of glittery sparkle.  You can see some of it in the snippet photo up top.
I have Sparkle in a bubble setting on a leaf surveying her domain.  She's making sure her sparkling butterflies are visiting every flower.  And yes, she is green!  With purple glitter hair, just like me.  Ha! My pattern paper is Dove Craft's 'Wild Blossom' by Kate Knight.  I colored Sparkle with Prismacolor pencils and OMS before using Ranger's Stickles on her.
I hope my fantasy card helps inspire you.  That is what its all about.  I hope you will enter DYSU's challenge and I can't wait to see your entries!

Have a Beary Special Birthday

I'm all ready for someone's birthday and for this week's Designed 2 Delight challenge.  I received my free 'bear's big gift' image for participating last week and made a gift bag decorated a gift bag. Why make a bag when I seem to collect these pre-made ones?! I used a Chanel bag that I could easily transform.

I used the D2D image three times at three different sizes.  I also printed the images again on some designer paper I've had f o r e v e r.
I colored the images with Ranger Distress inks and then cut the two larger ones out. After much cutting, cursing and gluing, I had my bears ready for the bag.  (Notice they started out as D2D bears, but now after all that work they are 'mine'!)
I found a Raindrop Echo Designs' sentiment that was perfect!  Made a tag for it and doodled around the edge and Voila!  I'm ready to make someone feel Beary Special.
